About our rebrand
About
After sixteen years of growth, partnership, and impact, the Friends of the Capitol Park Museum are reintroducing ourselves with a refreshed identity that reflects who we are today — and where we’re headed. As the Museum approaches its 20th anniversary in 2026, this rebrand marks a milestone moment: a renewed commitment to championing the largest museum in the Louisiana State Museum system and the only one that tells the story of the entire state of Louisiana.
Our new look is more than design — it’s a declaration of purpose. It embodies our role as a beacon for Louisiana’s history, culture, and community, while reaffirming our mission to preserve, celebrate, and connect people to the stories that define our state.

The New Logo
The centerpiece of our rebrand is our new logo — a modern, minimalist depiction of the Capitol Park Museumembedded within the outline of Louisiana. This design symbolizes both our statewide reach and our deep roots in Baton Rouge, where the Museum stands as a gateway to the stories of every parish, every culture, and every era.
-
Louisiana Outline: Represents our statewide mission and the Museum’s role as a storyteller for all Louisianans.
-
Capitol Park Museum Silhouette: A bold, angular structure that embodies progress, preservation, and perspective — honoring the Museum’s architectural identity and its place at the heart of our cultural landscape.
-
Flowing River Motif: A subtle nod to the Mississippi River, the lifeblood of Louisiana, symbolizing connection and continuity.
why now?
With the Museum’s 20th anniversary in 2026 on the horizon, this rebrand sets the stage for a new era of leadership, growth, and storytelling. The Friends have evolved from a small group of dedicated supporters into a dynamic statewide partner that amplifies the Museum’s mission through fundraising, membership, and programming. Our new identity reflects that transformation — honoring sixteen years of service while preparing for the next twenty.
This rebrand also aligns with the Museum’s own evolution: new exhibitions, expanded educational programming, and a growing community presence. Together, we’re creating a cohesive, modern narrative that connects past, present, and future — uniting audiences under one shared vision of Louisiana’s story.
