About the event

Flavors of Louisiana at Capitol Park Museum to Celebrate Food, Culture, and Community on April 26

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Friends of the Capitol Park Museum will host Flavors of Louisiana, a new culinary and cultural festival celebrating the rich traditions of Louisiana food, music, and community on Saturday, April 26, 2026, at the Capitol Park Museum in downtown Baton Rouge. The family-friendly event will bring together local chefs, home cooks, artisans, and community organizations for a vibrant day of flavor, fellowship, and cultural celebration.

Anchoring the festival is the high-energy “Anything Over Rice” Cook-Off, where both professional and amateur teams will compete in classic Louisiana categories including gumbo, red and white beans, stew, and jambalaya. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample dishes and vote for their favorites in the People’s Choice competition, while a panel of judges selects winners across divisions.

Beyond the cook-off, Flavors of Louisiana…
